Laser Periodontal Treatment (LPT)
In the United States, more than 60% of the population has some degree of gum disease, yet statistics show that less than 3% have treatment. Since fear is one of the factors that prevent patients from having recommended treatment, we want to introduce our patients to Laser Periodontal Treatment (LPT), a non-surgical approach to treating gum disease. We and our guests have found that this is a very effective treatment, and it is far less invasive and therefore much more comfortable than traditional periodontal surgery.
Laser Periodontal Therapy can help eliminate infection and heal diseased gum tissue which, if left untreated, can lead to early tooth loss. Research suggests that dental infections may also be associated with hardening of the arteries, heart attack, stroke and premature births.
Laser periodontal therapy (LPT) is a breakthrough in the treatment of gum disease just as LASIK was for ophthalmology. LPT takes some of the most effective treatment modalities that have been used for many years and enhances them with the conservative use of a laser. This very special combination of treatments has proven to be as effective as surgery for the treatment of periodontal disease.
We use this Laser Periodontal Therapy procedure in order to preserve as much of the healthy gum tissue as possible, maintain the height of the gums around the teeth, and minimize the discomfort to the patient.
The laser generates a tiny beam of concentrated light energy, killing the bacteria that cause peridontal disease. This is done quickly and painlessly.
Digital X-Rays
To improve your care we've invested in a new way of looking into your mouth-a procedure that's fast, and incredibly precise - digital x-rays. Digital x-ray technology speeds and simplifies the diagnostic part of your treatment, and most importantly allows us to provide a much higher level of care.
Digital x-rays use 50-90% less radiation than old-fashioned x-rays requried. The highly detailed image of your teeth on our computer screen can be rotated, magnified, adjusted for contrast. Further, we can store it on our computer files, thus saving paper. For insurance purposes, referrals or patient education, it can be accurately reproduced any number of times. Digital x-rays allow us to provide better quality care to our guests.
Cerec® One Appointment Crowns and Veneers
Cerec® is a computerized robotic milling system that allows us to create porcelain crowns, inlay, and onlays for our guests in only one appointment.
The adavantages of the Cerec® system include:

- No impressions are taken
- Cerec crowns are bonded on, which eliminates sensitivity
- Restorations are natural looking and metal free
- Cerec crowns are more conservative, saving more of your natural tooth
- Cerec crowns are computer designed and milled, ensuring an ideal fit

DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Detector
Our DIAGNOdent laser cavity detector allows us to detect decay easily and painlessly. Using diode laser technology, we shine a laser light on the tooth, and the DIAGNOdent measures the amount of decay present. This allows us to decide which teeth need attention, and which teeth we can observe for any further changes.
Intra-oral Camera
Using our high resolution inta-oral camera, our guests can see their teeth magnified 40 times their normal size. Areas of concern can be seen easily and clearly both our guests and the doctor, allowing us to decide together the best treatment for you.
ViziLite Plus
We have recently incorporated ViziLite Plus into our oral screening standard of care. We find that using ViziLite Plus along with a standard oral cancer exam improves the ability to identify suspicious areas at their earliest stages. ViziLite Plus is a simple and painless examination that gives us the best chance to find any oral abnormalities at the earliest possible stage. Early detection of pre-cancerous tissue can minimize or eliminate the potenitally disfiguring effects of oral cancer and possibly save your life. The ViziLite Plus exam will be offered to you annually.
