CEREC Dental Technology
Serving Santa Clarita, Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, and San Fernando Valley, California
CEREC stands for Ceramic Reconstruction, a computerized robotic milling system that allows cosmetic dentists to make one-visit porcelain restorations. CEREC crowns use specialized 3D photography and computer assisted technology to create a customized restoration from a block of pure porcelain.
CEREC for Crowns, Veneers and Fillings
CEREC is most commonly used to make dental crowns from durable porcelain that matches the color of your natural tooth. However, CEREC technology can also be used to create any type of ceramic restoration, including porcelain veneers, porcelain onlays, and porcelain inlays from different types of ceramic. And because these fillings are made from high-quality porcelain, they are extremely durable and longer-lasting than tooth-colored fillings.
Single Visit Advantage
Most restorative and cosmetic dental treatments involve more than one visit. During the first appointment, your tooth will be prepared and an impression will be made and sent to a dental laboratory, where your restoration will be created. You will be given a temporary restoration while you are waiting, to hold your teeth in place and to maintain your oral appearance. Several weeks later, you will return for your second visit and have the temporary restoration replaced with the permanent one.
With CEREC, your porcelain restoration is created in just one visit, while you wait. There is no need for multiple appointments, temporary restorations, or the additional cost or hassle of returning to have the restoration placed.
Finest Dental Materials
The porcelain material used in CEREC restorations closely matches the composition of your natural tooth structure. Therefore, when you consume hot foods or cold drinks, the porcelain will expand and contract at a rate nearly equal to your actual tooth. This helps eliminate wear and tear on your tooth, helping to reinforce it for years to come. And since the ceramic material is chemically bonded to your tooth, it will help preserve your healthy tissue and strengthen your tooth overall.
At Aesthetic Dentistry of Valencia, we pride ourselves in creating high-quality restorations to transform your oral health and overall self esteem. If you have some quirk or imperfection that you would like to change, please contact the office of Dr. Joel Miller to schedule your complimentary consultation.
